Grace has recently moved from Motor Plan 30 to Motor Plan 66 on her I-110 and she is loving the extra vocabulary. Having access to her communication system has opened the door to so many different educational opportunities. Grace has blown everyone away with her maths, reading and writing skills. We can’t wait to see what Grace can achieve next’.
Beautiful feedback we received after donating an I-110 communication device to a little girl in Fiji:
We are so thankful for the donation of this communication system in Fiji. When children are given the opportunity to have a voice, their growth and development blossoms. We really value having had access to early intervention, it has been life changing.
Three days after Grace, a 13-year-old Fijian girl, got her I-110 from Bridge Assistive, we received the following message:
‘Grace has been attending Sunday School since she was 2 years old. At the end of each year, the Sunday School has a break-up where each class would do an item. Grace has never been able to really participate effectively in these items due to her lack of speech.
This year we were able to give her a part like all the other kids using her device. we were able to preset a button with her line and she was able to "say" her line boldly and clearly.
I’m pretty sure her smile speaks a thousand words......’
A couple of months ago, Bridge Assistive donated a TD I-110 to a non-speaking little girl in a Children’s Home in Fiji. While the little girl was building up her confidence in using the device, the staff noticed that a 13 year old girl, who is an existing AAC user, had taken a great liking of the little girl's I-110. The girl independently worked out how to navigate the page sets to create novel messages. Staff reported that the older girl also seemed to prefer the I-110 hardware over her own device due to the weight (seeking proprioceptive input and linking to carry heavy things) and volume. The I-110 made it much easier for her to be heard in the group home environment. We are happy to announce that the older girl will very soon have her own I-110, so she doesn't have to hijack the little one's device anymore 🙂.
We donated a Tobii Dynavox I-110, to Jordan, a 14-year-old boy in Fiji in May 2023. Two months after our first clinical session with his support team, they provided us with beautiful feedback:
‘He communicates things we would never have imagined’
‘It has helped his frustration, he can now communicate his emotions’
'It's magical'
We are so happy that the device has already made such a difference in Jordan’s life and will aim to support many more people with complex communication needs in developing countries
